What makes the GW-01 powerful is not limited to protocol conversion. It also stands out with features designed to help maintain data continuity. Acquired data can be stored temporarily in the device's buffer. If a connection problem occurs on the higher-level system side, the data stored in the buffer can be transferred once the connection is restored.

This feature is especially valuable in projects where data loss is undesirable, such as energy monitoring, production data acquisition, process reporting, consumption monitoring, meter reading and quality data monitoring. The GW-01's buffer and data logging architecture helps reduce the impact of temporary communication interruptions on data integrity.

Flexible MQTT architecture in both directions

One of the notable features of the GW-01 is its flexible MQTT architecture. The device can operate as an MQTT Client while also providing an integrated MQTT Broker.

This architecture provides an important advantage particularly in field environments with distributed IoT devices. Different MQTT Client devices, sensors, I/O modules or PLCs in the field can send data to the MQTT Broker running on the GW-01. The GW-01 can collect this data in a central location and transfer it to higher-level systems through OPC UA, SQL or REST.

This allows data from numerous IoT devices to be transferred through a single gateway to SCADA, databases or reporting systems, while field data can be organized, standardized and delivered to higher-level systems in a controlled manner.

In many large industrial facilities, the automation network is separated from the IT / data processing network. The GW-01 can be positioned as a controlled data bridge between these networks, reading data from the automation network through one Ethernet port and delivering it to the higher-level IT network through OPC UA, SQL or REST via the second Ethernet port.
